Tiffany Marks (Dec. 15) is located on the Tohono O’odham Nation. She was raised in a lifestyle full of culture and music. With the exposure to music by her father and exposure to basketry by her mother, she was always thought to go in either direction. She chose her own path of trying many elements of the art world by starting out with basketry then moving on to woodwork and making native designed frames and jewelry boxes. She then moved on to graphic design.
Sublimation was inspired by her dissatisfaction with vinyl material and how it did not last long on completed work. Vinyl work was explored as a new source of income during the pandemic. It was a new medium for her that she continued to research the material but discovered sublimation.
Currently she is attending Tohono O’odham Community College pursuing a degree in Fine Arts. She plans to continue her education at Arizona State University. While she is a full-time student you can find her participating in local events in Southern Arizona promoting her current work.
